A&P students navigate disability awareness
Recently, the Anatomy & Physiology students at Newton had an amazing opportunity to step into the shoes of people living with disabilities. It was an interactive activity that challenged them to experience what it's like to be paralyzed, blind or deaf.

The students were given a set of objectives to perform basic tasks in a wheelchair, read common sentences in Braille, and decipher sounds through a cochlear implant. Sounds pretty cool, right? Well, the best part is that the students managed to navigate through all the challenges successfully, and they did it with flying colors!

During the simulations, several faculty members stopped by to watch the students in action and even tried some of the challenges themselves. The students came away with a greater appreciation and understanding of disability awareness, and a renewed sense of gratitude for the things they often take for granted.

It's great to see students stepping out of their comfort zones and learning new things. Congrats to all the students on a job well done on this first-of-its-kind activity!!!
