It's showtime! Last night the cast and crew of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr. invited their most honored stuffed animals to their Final Dress rehearsal for a preview performance, and after reviews have filed in, the rating has been determined as two stuffed thumbs up!! Tonight is opening night of the show! We hope to see you there! Tickets can be purchased with cash at the door!

Today members of the Halsted Concert and Symphonic Bands had their first rehearsal playing side-by-side in the cafeteria. Students are preparing a joint finale number for their portion of the concert to be held at the Newton High School Auditorium on Thursday, May 1st!

Before our FBLA team heads to states on Thursday, each member was asked to nominate a teacher who helped them reach the competition finished line. Each teacher who was nominated got placed into a raffle to win a Dunkin' gift card. Our very own Dr. Young was selected by Aria Y. and won the raffle! Good luck at states on Thursday FBLA team!

Mrs. Camacho's 6th Grade Math class had tons of fun on Pi day! They colored, ate oreos, played a Pi dice game, and had a contest on who could recite the most numbers of Pi! Sebi and Colton won the dice game, and Lila won the Pi recitation contest by reciting 90 numbers of Pi!

The gym was on fire yesterday afterschool! The competition in the skills contest was fierce! Congrats and kudos to semi finalists Arlo Sanberg and Tyquan McCallister. However, Tucker Maslowski demolished a school record yesterday completing the skills course in 30 seconds. He was able to master 4 out of his 5 skills on the first try. Awesome job Tuck! Action resumes on Friday with the 3 point shootout.

Congrats and kudos to this year’s free throw champion, Brandon Sanchez! Brandon’s silky finish held off top competitors Tyquan McAllister,Paul McClure, and Tyler Erwin in our March Madness competition. Action resumes after school today with the skills competition!

Mrs. Evans and her Advanced Art group traveled to the Grounds for Sculpture Museum in Hamilton today to celebrate Maggie Kays' representation in their Youth Art Month exhibit! Students got to spend a beautiful day exploring the grounds of the museum!

Each year, Student Councils throughout the whole state of New Jersey raise money for the same charity. This year's charity is called Ava's Voice, which helps people with Usher Syndrome.
The Halsted Student Council will be selling St. Patrick's Day items after school on March 5th (TOMORROW) and 12th. All proceeds will be donated to Ava's Voice!
And remember... Scholars can wear their St. Patrick's Day gear to the parade in town on March 8th and to school on St. Patrick’s day, March 17th!!
