Last Thursday, the 7th graders had their "Incentive Day" for students who had all of their work completed! Students got to make slime in the afternoon. It went really well and it was great to see the kids enjoying the activities!

The Student Council is participating in Project Self Sufficiency’s “Stuff the Stocking” event. Please consider donating new toys and/or gift cards for families needing presents to give their children during this joyful holiday season. Donations will be accepted from November 1st through December 11th and can be brought to room 207 or the main office lobby. Thank you!

Congratulations to the Varsity Field Hockey team on their dominating 4-0 victory over North Warren on Friday. Alaina M. started the scoring trend in the second quarter off of a Hannah H. assist. Alaina returned the favor in the 3rd quarter, assisting Hannah for the second goal. Moments later, Hannah assisted Alaina again. The Braves rounded out their scoring streak when Maddie S. assisted Neveah A. for the team's fourth goal. The Braves' fierce defense held off all Patriots' pressure. Fantastic way to end the season girls, and thank you to all students and staff members who came to support us this season!

Gertrude Hawk orders are due now. Deliveries will be the week of December 4th!

Today the 5th and 6th Grade Concert Band travelled to PA to enjoy a performance of Dan Brown’s “Wild Symphony” at Miller Symphony Hall. As part of the show, they got to see Mrs. Young play the String Bass!

Happy Halloween from the Halsted Staff...and remember to always BEE the change you wish to see in the world! 🐝

It’s on! We can't wait to join in on the nationwide celebration of #LightsOnAfterschool. Afterschool and summer learning programs keep kids safe, inspire them to learn and help working families—and on Oct. 26, thousands of programs will share how they're keeping the lights on afterschool for our children.
Join us at Halsted from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, Oct. 26th for our Lights On Afterschool Block Party! #LightsOnAfterschool!

The Varsity Field Hockey team bounced back from a 0-2 deficit to end with a 2-2 tie against Frankford yesterday. Jenna S. connected on a long drive to score first for the Braves. Hannah H. pushed in the Braves' second goal for the tie. The Braves defense, led by centerback Charlotte M., held off Frankford’s fourth quarter pressure. Great game girls!

Students received information for a Gertrude Hawk fundraiser. All money raised will go towards costs for the yearbook. We hope you will consider supporting the cause!

Attention ALL potential basketball players. There will be meetings held Tuesday, October 24th after school for both boys and girls. Physical paperwork will be explained and distributed. Attendance is mandatory. The boys will meet in room 203, the girls in the auditorium. If you have a conflict, please see Mr. Bitondo or Mrs. Desautels ASAP. Go Braves!! 🏀🏀
